Any travel should include exploring local food as part of the itinerary. Here's some of the world's best food destinations.

 Hong Kong
'The Fragrant City' presents an impressive menu with over 2,000 varieties of dim sum, as well as delicacies from mainland China. Experience cheap local dishes at Haiphong Road Temporary Market or suck in the full taste of Hong Kong at Tim Ho Wan; the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant in the world!

 George Town, Mayalsia
In Penang where George Town is located, lures a food mecca with the promise of delicious flavors for your taste buds, from nasi lemak (rice dish cooked on coconut milk) to fiery nasi kandar (rice served with a variety of side dishes and curries). Finish it all off with the famous Penang-version of the Southeast Asia desert cendol. If you're still hungry grab some lok-lok; skewered food dipped into boiling pot of water.
George Town was named by Lonely Planet as the top culinary hotspot in 2014.

 Bangkok, Thailand
Get ready to go food shopping in the food capital. Enjoy street food like som tam (spicy papaya salad), pad thai (stir-fried noodles) or mango sticky rice. Dine at the many great local, fusion and international restaurants the city has to offer. Visit Khao San Road for an extra crispy scorpion-on-a-stick and end it off with a local Chang beer in one of the many bars.

 Melbourne, Australia
A melting pot of diverse cultures from around the world, Melbourne is a truly cosmopolitan foodie destination with fabulous food events happening all year round. Join in on a food festival and enjoy well-cooked dishes from all around the globe in this multicultural city.

 Salvador, Brazil
Brazilian street food like coxinha, kibe and pastel are some of the finest most well-tasting snacks you'll find on the streets of the world. But what makes Salvador a Must-Try Food Destination is the acarajé. An Afro-Brazilian dish found in the state of Bahia; deep fried ball filled with dried shrimp stew called vatapá.
For desert? Ice-cold and delicious acai is well in order. Enjoy!

 Paris, France

Baguettes, pain au chocolat and fromage. Oui, that's right! Bread, cake and cheese. Topped off with a great glass of red wine. France truly has a unique food culture, which is widely available in the capital of Paris.

Being in Paris doesn't necessarily mean high-end Michelin-starred food. Small dinners and local bistros will provide you with just the cultural experience you're looking for. Bon Appétit!
