Last Supper in Milano

The iconic Duomo Cathedral functions as a massive magnet keeping the city together. From Duomo square the shopping streets spreads in every direction. And on the roof of the cathedral you can gaze upon the throbbing masses of people moving from store to store.

Being one of the world's fashion capitals, Milan, offers endless shopping opportunities. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a must-visit with stunning mosaics and glass vaults.

But my favorite place in Milan by far, is visiting Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper'. Getting tickets to see the famous church wall painting however is not easy.
The most secure way of getting tickets is buying them weeks in advance or getting yourself a more expensive guided tour with a visit to 'The Last Supper' included.
Before getting a change to have a look at the artwork, you are sealed in an airtight anti-moist room made of glass. After a couple of minutes the air is clean and you are ready to meet the world-famous painting of Jesus and his disciples. For 15 minutes you're eyes fall into a trance as you try to comprehend a million impressions which overwhelms the mind. By far the most exciting visit during my day in Milano.

Milano is one of those cities where you can always find a new detail you've missed the first time a around. Like a good movie, it never gets old and there will always be a reason to re-visit Milano.
