The Australian Roadtrip: Part Two: Sydney to Cairns

Monday, December 15, 2014
The second part of our roadtrip began with a vehicle change in Sydney.

With our new van tooks us all the way to Byron Bay on the first day. Even after a long day of driving, we decided to get up early to watch the sunrise at Australia's most easterly point; Cape Byron.

After the sun had risen we took at walk at the main beach of Byron Bay enjoying the early morning and the white sand.

With a beautiful new day dawning we headed for Gold Coast and Surfer's Paradise, where we enjoyed the beach and sea, after a short walking in the city.

Next up was; MORE BEACH. This time in Noosaville, which by my opinion beats both Surfer's Paradise and Byron Bay if you're looking for a tan and a dip instead of a day of surfing.

As the day was coming to an end we reach our final destionation; Mon Repos. Where we spend the early hours of the night watching sea turtles climb the beach and laying their eggs. We were lucky enough to see a very rare Australian Flatback coming to shore, which was the perfect ending for a beautiful and exciting day.

Next morning we drove off to Agnes Water and the Town of 1770, for a visit and another dip in the ocean, before heading off with direction; Mackay. The country changed a lot as we moved even further north, and we had to stop for a photo as the sun was setting.

We spend the night in Mackay before a long day of driving all the way to Cairns on the day after. In Cairns we had decided to stay for a while and maybe enjoy some diving.
